Description

Engineered wood floors are designed to give greater dimensional stability throughout the yearly seasons.

With a real wood veneer adhered to a soft wood base structure, engineered boards can be laid floating, fully bonded or even in some instances bolted by secret nailing. Engineered Floors are naturally hygroscopic and will therefore both expand and contract throughout the yearly seasons. They are generally diverse and can be laid floating on to a suitable wood floor underlay, or be fully bonded to a prepared cement/screed sub-base using an appropriate wood floor adhesive and primer. Unlike solid wood floors, some engineered boards are suitable, but not guaranteed for installations over under-floor heating and we would recommend that you seek the advice of a professional wood floor installer. Available as tongue and groove profile, or with a patented click or locking profile. Engineered wood floors are easy and quick to fit.

It is also the ideal choice for environmentally friendly flooring because solid wood flooring is produced with timber from sustainable forests so each tree which is chopped down is replaced.
